Donations for your celebration
Whether it's a birthday or anniversary, a birth, christening, wedding or retirement – when people ask what you'd like to have as a gift, suggest that they make a donation to the people at Bethel.
By making a donation to Bethel, you are doing good and sharing your joy with sick and disabled people. We would be happy to help you choose a suitable project for these special donations. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Donations instead of gifts - how it works
1. Select a project
Select one of our aid projects or discuss with us personally which cause you would like to support.
2. Set up a donation account
As the host, set up a special account for your guests' donations.
3. Inform your guests and enjoy your celebration
Make sure that your guests are aware of your donation request and have the correct account details so that they can transfer a gift donation to your special account.
4. Transfer the total amount to Bethel
Transfer the total amount of the donations to Bethel's donation account, with a reference to the previously agreed project.
5. Receive donation receipt(s)
Please send us a list with the names, addresses and individual amounts of your guests, if they agree to this. This will enable us to issue thank-you letters and donation receipts for everyone.
Please note: If we send you a donation receipt for the total amount, we are not allowed to provide your guests with another receipt, as each donation is only tax-deductible once.
1. Select a project
Select one of our aid projects or discuss with us personally which cause you would like to support. We will be happy to help you decide on an individual project.
2. Inform guests and enjoy your celebration
Make sure that your guests are aware of your donation request and the intended use and that they have the Bethel account details to transfer their desired amount to our donation account.
3. Receive donation receipt(s) and information on the funds raised
You will then receive a list from us with the names of the donors and information on the total amount. All donors will receive a thank you from Bethel and a donation receipt for donations of €20 or more.
Funeral donations to charity
The loss of a loved one hurts more than words can say. That is why relatives and friends often express their sympathy with flowers or wreaths. Many also wish to do something good in the name of the deceased. In such cases, they are welcome to support Bethel with a memorial donation for disadvantaged people.
The bereaved can mention the memorial donation in the obituary and ask their guests for a donation in lieu of flowers or wreaths.
You have the option of either collecting incoming donations through your own donation account or referring the donors directly to us.
1. Select a project
Select one of our aid projects or discuss with us personally which cause you would like to support. If you do not have a specific preference, your memorial donation will go towards the current annual donation project.
2. Specify a donation account
You can collect incoming memorial donations either through your own donation account or through the Bethel donation account. In the latter case, please ask your guests to use the following payment reference: "Bereavement + name of the deceased".
3. Inform friends and relatives
In the obituary and invitation to the funeral, inform friends and relatives of the memorial donation, specifying the chosen donation account and payment reference.
4. Receive donation receipt(s)
If you specify the Bethel donation account: After your funeral service, you will receive a list from us with the names of the donors and information on the total amount raised. All donors will receive a thank you from Bethel and a donation receipt for donations of €20 or more.
If you would like to use your own donation account, please send us a list with the names, addresses and individual amounts of your guests, if they so wish. This will enable us to issue thank-you letters and donation receipts for everyone.
