The confirmation appeal
In the Protestant church, confirmation marks children's transition to adulthood. They voluntarily profess their faith and are strengthened in it through the act of blessing. Some confirmands want to use this celebration as an opportunity to help others. They choose Bethel as the recipient of the collection at their confirmation service, or ask guests to make donations for the people at Bethel in lieu of gifts.
A donation for music therapy at the Bethel Children's Centre
Music accompanies us from an early age – indeed, at any age and in all situations – and also helps us when we are not feeling so well. "Music speaks where words fail," Hans Christian Andersen once said. In this sense, music therapy at the Bethel children's centre is an important component in the recovery of young patients – especially those with long-term illnesses. Music helps children to relax. Gentle sounds also support the development of prematurely born children. Whether we listen to music, play it ourselves or feel it – it brings joy and makes the world bigger. We would like to continue to offer this special therapy at the Bethel children's centre.
We appreciate any support for this. Your gift helps to ensure that sick children and young people can experience little rays of hope, providing little escapes in everyday hospital life. In this way, the confirmands enrich the childhood of others as they advance from their own childhood.
