Bethel children's centre
A great opportunity for young patients
In the centre of the village of Bethel, a clinic for young patients and adolescents has been created in which medical expertise and state-of-the-art technology are just as important as play oases and spacious patient rooms, where parents can stay with their sick child overnight.
All paediatric specialities are covered. The children's centre also specialises in treating young patients with disabilities. There is also a new centre for girls and boys with very rare diseases.
Chemo knights and cuddly toys against leukaemia
Young Philipp always brings his favourite cuddly toys along when he comes to the Bethel children's centre for chemotherapy. They comfort him. And they protect him. Just like the chemo knights in the infusions he receives. The four-year-old has explained to all his friends at nursery school that the knights are very small. "They fit through tubes and attack all the bad cells in my blood. And when the bad cells are gone, I'll be healthy again," he says.
Philipp, who has leukaemia, had to spend many weeks in Bethel. His mum was always there. After all, young patients feel more secure when their parents are close by.
Studies show that the more comfortable patients feel in hospital, the faster they can recover. A hospital should therefore offer a particularly family-friendly atmosphere for children – just like the new building of the Bethel Children's Centre.
Helping sick children together
We appreciate every donation that supports young patients at the Bethel children's centre.
Thank you very much!
